From Farm to Table: SPUIC Explores Sustainable Innovation

SPUIC Students from the BBM373 Integrated Marketing Communication course recently visited a Wolffia farm in Bangkok to explore how one of the world’s smallest plants can be transformed into a powerful sustainable business opportunity. During this hands-on global experience, students analyzed positioning and branding and even created Wolffia sandwiches to see how innovative ideas turn into real, market-ready products

Through this field trip, students gained valuable insights into:

  • Sustainable Food Markets: Understanding the future of food security
  • Practical Marketing Skills: Mastering positioning and segmentation for agribusiness
  • Real-World Exposure: Observing agribusiness operations and developing market-ready products
  • Global Perspectives: Seeing how local innovation can impact the global stage

This project also reflects SPUIC’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) by exploring high-protein food sources, SDG 3 (Good Health & Well-being) through plant-based superfoods, and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption & Production) through ethical marketing and sustainable farming
