Sripatum University Collaborates with Public and Private Sectors to Spread Joy to the Community as a New Year’s Gift, Fostering Sustainable Social Development in Alignment with SDGs

On February 15, 2025, Sripatum University, in collaboration with its partners, hosted the event “Sripatum: Spreading Joy to the Community” to bring happiness to the local communities as a New Year’s gift. The initiative aimed to strengthen relationships between the university and the surrounding communities, which have continuously supported one another. This event also aligned with the promotion of social well-being in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to create a more livable and sustainable society.


On behalf of Dr. Ratchaneeporn Pookayaporn Phukkamarn, President of Sripatum UniversityAssoc. Prof. Premjit Saowakon, Vice President, presided over the opening ceremony and welcomed the residents from four nearby communities: Wat Bang Bua Community, Phahonyothin 46 Community, Pradit Thorakarn Community, and Kheha Bang Bua Community, who attended the event in great numbers.

Health and Wellness Activities Supporting SDG Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being

The event featured various health promotion activities, including:

  • general health check-up zone offering blood pressure measurement and health consultations by medical professionals from Nawamin Medical Center.
  • vision screening and free eyeglasses service, generously supported by Top Charoen Optical.
  • free haircut service provided by A FEW GOOD MAN barbershop.

These activities aligned with SDG Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being, emphasizing the importance of public health and access to essential medical services.

Community Engagement and Recreational Activities Supporting SDG Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities

In addition to health services, the event featured recreational activities designed to foster community relationships, such as:

  • Interactive game stations and activities hosted by various faculties and colleges.
  • A live music performance by SPU Band.
  • Complimentary snacks and beverages for attendees.

These activities contributed to building a stronger, more engaged community, aligning with SDG Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, which focuses on creating inclusive and resilient urban environments.

Another highlight of the event was the futsal and pétanque competitions, which drew enthusiastic participation. The winners were as follows:
